PALS Pet of the Week – Bayley

PALS Pet of the Week - Bayley .5

Meet Bayley, our PALS Pet of the Week!

Bayley is an approximately 14 month old, spayed female, red merle German Shorthaired Pointer. Bayley is an absolute sweetheart of a dog who has shown amazing perseverance and heart while recovering from a very serious injury; Bayley was rescued by PALS after she was brought into the city shelter with a severely broken elbow. Unfortunately, surgical intervention to repair the broken elbow was ruled out, and Bayley’s front right leg had to be amputated. Following her surgery, Bayley was placed in a foster home where she was able to recuperate in a loving home environment. Bayley’s missing limb didn’t slow her down, much, and within days of the amputation, she was back on her feet, walking, and then running, around in the backyard. Today, Bayley is a happy and healthy girl that loves being outdoors, and even plays fetch; her body is still adjusting to the loss of her leg, so short periods of play are best for her, but, as the muscles in her other legs strengthen she will be back up to full speed in no time. Bayley is a little bit on the quiet side, so she would be best suited for a home with no young children. If you’d like to give this remarkable girl the loving forever home that she deserves, please come in and meet her!

Bayley is currently being fostered, so if you’re interested in meeting her, please call PALS at (209)224-0354 to schedule a time to meet her!
