PALS Pet of the Week – Bear

Meet Bear, our PALS Pet of the Week!

Bear is an approximately 2 ½ year old, neutered male, Rottweiler, and weighs approximately 102 lbs. Our big Bear has come a long way since PALS first rescued him back in September, and we’re so proud of him! Bear was very shy and timid, and unsure of himself, and everyone else, when we first brought him over to PALS. It took all of our volunteers working with him, showing him love and attention, just sitting in his kennel with him, for him to start coming out of his shell, but when he did, he showed us what a remarkably loving and affectionate, and confident, dog he truly can be. He’s playful and goofy, and he loves to roll over on his back for some vigorous belly rubs. He loves to play fetch, and toss the ball in the air and pounce after it. And he loves to cuddle, too; this big boy soaks in the attention and affection he’s given, and returns it in kind, with a full body lean, and lots of doggy kisses! Bear is a recent graduate of the Basic Obedience Training course at Sycamore Lane Kennels, and it is recommended that his new owner(s) continue his obedience training to help him continue to build his confidence. Bear will need an owner that has experience with large breed dogs, and one that will have the patience to let Bear adjust to his new surroundings; and, Bear will need to go to a home that does not have cats. If you’re interested in giving our lovable Bear a great forever home, please come in and meet him!
