PALS Pet of the Week – Clay

Meet Clay, our PALS Pet of the Week!

Clay is an approximately 5 year old, male, Chihuahua mix; Clay weighs approximately 8 ½ lbs. This poor little guy seems to have had a bit of a rough time of it before being brought into the shelter, but he’s shown a remarkable resilience in dealing with his injuries; Clay was brought into the shelter with numerous abrasions, and an injured leg, suggesting that he had been struck by a car, though x-rays showed no broken bones; Clay is able to get around just fine, and he runs without any problem, though he occasionally does favor his left front leg. It looks like a previous owner made a rather poor, and unnecessary, attempt to crop Clay’s ears, as well. Despite all of that, he is still a sweet and loving little dog once you get to know him. Clay is still a little shy around new people, so it will take some patience, and a lot of love, to earn his trust, but it will be totally worth it once you do! Because of his shy nature, Clay will need to go to a home without any children under 12 years old. We know that in the right, stable, and loving home, Clay will thrive, and live a long, happy and healthy life! If you would like to give Clay a second chance at a forever home, please come down and meet him!
