PALS Pet of the Week – Sammy

PALS Pet of the Week - Sammy .5

Meet Sammy, our PALS Pet of the Week!

Sammy is an approximately 6 ½ year old, spayed female, Doxie mix; she weighs approximately 22lbs. Sammy was previously adopted from PALS nearly four years ago, but this gentle soul was recently returned to us after her owner passed away. Sammy is clearly saddened by the loss of her owner, but she always perks up when she’s the center of attention, and our volunteers are doing everything they can to help her adjust, and to show her that she is still very much loved. Sammy is a fairly mellow girl, and she doesn’t seem to be too interested in playtime, whether that be chasing after tennis balls, or running around the dog yard. She does seem to really enjoy going out for multiple walks during the day, and hanging out in the dog yard where she can soak up the warmth of the sun while she takes a quick nap. Once she gets over her initial shyness, Sammy is a very warm and affectionate dog who absolutely loves being in the company of people; once you meet her, it won’t be long before she’s jumping in your lap, licking your face, and enjoying every second of attention and affection you shower her with. Sammy appears to be housebroken, walks very well on a leash, and knows her sit command. Because of her quiet and gentle demeanor, Sammy would do best in a quiet home with no children. If you’d like to give sweet Sammy a second chance at a forever home, please come down and meet her!
